Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist

Dr. Paul Nasri is a New York State licensed physical therapist and owner of The Game Plan Physical Therapy, PLLC. He has over 8 years of experience treating patients with musculoskeletal and sports injuries. Dr. Nasri is a certified orthopedic manual therapist (COMT) and a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS). He graduated from The Graduate Center, CUNY with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2016. He also earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from The College at Brockport, SUNY in 2013 where he developed a sports performance, biomechanics, and power training background.

Dr. Nasri specializes in treating active adults and adolescents who participate in running, weight lifting, and sports activities. He has worked with clients who have desk jobs and want to remain active and healthy, strength training athletes, marathon runners, high school athletes, and everything in between. Dr. Nasri utilizes 2-D motion analysis to break down the biomechanics of walking, running, and weight lifting techniques in order to ensure a high-quality, targeted approach to your care. He then works with you to develop specific exercise and running programs to get you back to what you love, pain-free.

Dr. Nasri also works with clients who are uninjured and want to keep it that way! He believes in building foundational strength, mobility, and load capacity to help you become as physically and mentally resilient as possible. This is accomplished through movement screenings, running analyses, and ergonomic assessments. It is followed up with specific exercise/stretching interventions, biomechanical adjustments to running technique, patient education to promote behavior change, and changes to the workspace.

Dr. Nasri is most passionate about one-on-one treatment sessions to best understand the specific needs of each of his patients. He utilizes manual therapy techniques such as active release technique, soft tissue manipulation, neurodynamics, and joint mobilization to assist in the healing process. He believes that the body will heal provided it is given the appropriate environment and circumstances to do so. Dr. Nasri believes in coupling his hands-on work with patient education, specific therapeutic exercise interventions, and functional strengthening to maximize each therapy session.

Dr. Nasri has extensive continuing education training with Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars (MAPS). He utilizes many of these assessment and treatment techniques in his practice. Dr. Nasri also has extensive training in Kinesiotaping, and incorporates these techniques into his clinical practice. He is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the College of Staten Island, CUNY. Dr. Nasri teaches the Psychosocial Aspects of Clinical Practice and the Health Promotion Throughout the Lifespan courses. He is passionate about health, wellness, and the role that psychology plays on functional outcomes for his clients.
