Physical Therapy for Runners in Brooklyn, NYC
Improve your running performance and avoid running injuries
Becoming a better runner starts here
-
A running gait analysis is a biomechanical analysis of your running technique. It is used to better understand your mechanics and running efficiency.
-
It is recommended for runners who would like to avoid injury and optimize their running performance.
-
Reviewing your running form decreases your risk of injury and allows us to better understand your running technique. This helps us to identify your specific needs during your training.
Running Experts in Brooklyn
-
Your running analysis will be 90 minutes long. Our doctor of physical therapy will ask you a series of questions about your running history, training plan, recent changes to that training plan, shoe wear, sleep regimen, diet, past medical history, etc.
-
We will assess your joint mobility, muscle flexibility, muscular endurance, and movement coordination during different movement patterns.
The running analysis will be performed on a treadmill. We will record your running technique from multiple angles and watch it together. Your therapist will provide some cues that you can utilize to optimize your running technique.
-
Your physical therapist will recommend exercises / stretches that will facilitate optimal running form. That exercise program will be emailed and texted to you, as well as the before and after running videos of you, for reference.
-
We typically see our clients as often as 1x per week and as little as 1x per month. This is based on the clients goals, upcoming races, presence of pathology, pain acuity, etc.
We will design a plan specific to your needs, but it will be up to you to execute in between sessions.
-
Follow ups are also 1-hour long. We progress your home exercise program, make adjustments to your running plan, and record you on our treadmill to monitor progress.
Meet our Physical Therapists
"Paul is one of the only PTs I have seen who takes a holistic approach to both recovery and prevention, and can offer clear explanations that help me understand root causes. I’m back to running, and under his guidance we have put together a plan for racing again, which I’m very excited about. I know I’m in good hands when with Paul and that he’ll help me address any issue as soon as it arises! I give him my highest recommendation." - Prachi
"Paul worked WITH my marathon training, starting with a gait analysis to help me work towards being a faster and more efficient runner. While prior PT's would just give me lists of exercises to do at home, Paul was hands on and a constant resource and source of support during my training. I am now a MARATHONER after working with Paul. If you have ever considered working with a PT to improve your running game, SPRINT to The Game Plan Physical Therapy." - Caroline
